Living for Christ
Twylla Sundin
We are the body and bride of Christ. He wants a pure and holy bride. He is our Maker, Father and Savior. He wants us to be holy, as He is holy. He gives us instructions on what we need to do and things we shouldn't do. We cannot look and act like the unsaved people in the world. There should be a distinct difference in God's children and the children of the devil. If there is not a difference, how are we ever going to be a light in this dark world?
To have a close relationship with the Lord we must love His Word. Pleasing Him is so easy if you don't revel and try to twist His Word to make yourself comfortable. A person can twist it, turn it upside down, inside out and even tear outt he pages and it doesn't change a thing. The Word never changes. The sad thing is, if a person does this long enough, God gives them up to a reprobate mind. They really believe a lie, even if they see it in black and white. I've seen it happen and there seems no way to help them.
One thing the Lord does not do is make exceptions for some. It is either hot or cold with Him. No luke warm. No "ifs" and "buts". Would heaven be heaven if He allowed sinners in? Some feel God will overlook certain sins if it make life comfortable or financially more convenient. Sorry, His Word says just the opposite. We cannot really be happy going against God's Word. Doing the Lord's will is the only way we can find true happiness.
I was int he Catholic Church for 37 years. I know what I came out of and I know God Himself brought me out. When I look back on it today, I feel it was a miracle. Thank God, I answered the call. I started a study on the early Church and was shocked at what I learned. No way could I go back. The Catholic Church is the largest political and religious organization in the world. Many bad things have gone on in that Church fromt he very beginning to this very day. People today will except these things as they don't want to make a change in their life. It is easy to check things out, but people would rather put their head in the sand rather then their foot on the ROck. Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after righteousness. (Matthew 5-6) Those that go from church to church usually do not want to hear the truth. It is a comfortable place they are looking for. I want the preacher to preach it like it is, and the presence of God come down to confict me if I am slacking in anything. Even when I hear some of the beautiful old hymns, the tears come. I can't control them. The words are so beautiful and so meaningful. It is a touch of the Holy Spirit I feel.
Col. 2:8 says beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit. After the traditions of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. II Tim. 4:3-4 says they will not endure sound docgtrine, they shall heap tot hemselves teachers, having itching ears and they will turn away their ears from the truth.
God is not a liar, He never changes. We must except and love His Word. There is a way that seameth right unto man but the end there of are the ways of death. (Proverbs 14:12) My wish is that all will get their foot ont he Rock and their mind made up to serve the Lord.
